My First Print and Cut!

I have wanted to try the print and cut function on my Silhouette Cameo since I bought it 8 months ago.  I finally had a project I wanted to do badly enough to make myself learn how to do it.  It was really quite easy.  What a sense of satisfaction to have conquered another feature on this fun machine!

I am teaching the girls in my Wednesday night class at church (Faith Girlz) about storing up treasures in Heaven rather than here on Earth.  I have had this idea for a long time, and the time was finally right.  I found this template somewhere on the internet a while back.  (If it is yours or you know whose it is, please let me know so I can give proper credit.  I tried to find it again, but I never could.)

Printed on kraft cardstock.

I colored the straps using a gold metallic pen.

My finished box.

I cut out one for each of the girls in my class.  (I think about 15-20).  All of the cuts came out right on the mark except one that got off slightly when I was experimenting.  I chose that one for my sample box (without thinking I might post this on my blog) so I could give the girls the better ones (even though I knew most of them would end up in the trash).  We assembled the boxes in class, and I encouraged them to take them home and fill them with Heavenly treasures (such as Bible verses to memorize or things they could do that are pleasing to God).  I think only three didn't end up in the trash, but if God can use me to make a difference in the life of just one child, it is all worth it.
